Workplace Training offers the following courses in the Upholstery trade:

LMF20802 - Certificate II in Upholstery


Course Summary

This qualification focuses on performance of a prescribed range of functions within the Upholstery sector, involving known routines and procedures and limited accountability for the quality of outcomes.

Entry Requirements

Completion of Year 10 or equivalent is recommended. You must be employed as an apprentice/trainee in the Upholstery sector and must have signed a Registered Training Contract as an apprentice/trainee to be eligible to undertake training in this course.

LMF20802 Certificate II in Upholstery will take a nominal 12 months full-time to complete.

Location

Training is performed at Workplace Training Pty Ltd’s facility in Wynnum. Students attend the training facility for 4 weeks over a period of 12 months.

Pathways

On successful completion of the Certificate II you can continue to further study, e.g. Certificate III, a Diploma or Advanced Diploma. If continuing on to the Upholstery apprenticeship you may be eligible for Credit, please ask when enrolling.

Course Summary

This qualification focuses on performance of a prescribed range of functions within the Upholstery sector, usually within a broad range of related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in the selection of equipment, services or contingency measures and within known time constraints. Apprentices undertaking Upholstery will develop a variety of skills to become a qualified tradesperson. These include using hand and power tools, assembling furniture components, constructing furniture, making custom furniture, preparing surfaces for finishing, apply many types of furnishing fabrics and materials in a variety of ways and applications as well as estimating and costing jobs.
